NASCAR- Daytona 500

NASCAR - Daytona 500 - rain delayed 6 hours and 20 minutes - I really love night racing... the resuming of the race started with more than 100 laps of green flag racing... then the wrecking began, right up to the last lap... 5 different incidents ...taking out 27 cars all totalled... 2 cars had engine problems, Truex Jr. and Bowyer and Stewart had fuel cell issues. The racing was good, edge of your seat, restrictor plate race. It was nice to see side by side all race and not follow the leader... It was some great racing when they weren't wrecking... Very glad to see the close racing again...

Congratulations Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Jr. has made it in Victory Lane at Daytona for the second time, 10 years apart, may 4 is his lucky number? His car was strong and could stay out front. He was quite excited for this 2nd Daytona win. He even said it was better than the first one... Way to go Dale Jr., Steve LaTarte and the whole 88 National Guard crew!!!\\

NASCAR - Sprint Unlimited

NASCAR - 2014 Sprint Unlimited

NASCAR Racing kicked off Saturday night, February 15, 2014, with the Sprint Unlimited race.  Finishing with only 8 cars lead by Denny Hamlin. Jimmie Johnson started the wrecking in the first segment, just loosing it, spinning and eventually hitting the inside wall, dropping him out of the race.

In the second segment, Matt Kenseth started the "big one" after clipping Joey Lagano that send him sailing out of control and collecting 6 more cars, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick (who stayed on track). Danica Patrick, who had spun trying to avoid the managed to stay off the walls only to be slammed by boyfriend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who in my opinion was accelerating to get to her, if he couldn't see "like he claims" then why was he accelerating the car. The sound in the replays after he got caught up against the wall under Kurt
Busch and pulled way, clears shows he purposely accelerated that car, gunning directly at Danica.

With Terry LaBonte dropping out early, there were only 9 cars starting the last segment.

Even the Pace Car had to get in on the action... catching on fire before the last segment.

The last segment had to get in on it too. Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Marcos Ambrose came together turning Earnhardt in the wall, ending his night.

The new spoiler seems to be making the closing time shorter. Once the car pushing gets that clean air, it is "sucked" right up.

Congratulations Denny Hamlin!!!
