NASCAR-Martinsville-Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500

NASCAR - Martinsville - Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 - A wreck mess - the chase drivers had a lot of problems Brad Keslowski had a broken axle, Kevin Harvick was turned by Matt Kenseth putting him in the wall. Jeff Gordon was caught speeding on pit road. Carl Edwards was involved in one of the many crashes 5 of the 8 did finish in the top ten. Dale Earnhardt Jr. came from a 23rd starting spot to take the Grandfather clock.
Last week when Dale Jr. was eliminated from the Championship Chase a friend of mine asked me how I liked the chase now. He stated he was ready for next year and the rest of the season didn't matter. Me: the chase is still exciting.. but as I sat (on the edge of my seat) today and watch Dale Jr. take that checkered flag, I was just as excited as I ever am when he wins, doesn't matter if he is in the Chase or not... I so LOVE Racing!!!!
Congratulations Dale Earnhardt Jr.!!!

NASCAR-Talladega-Geico 500

NASCAR- Talladega - Geico 500 - As always a nail biting race at Talladega. No real "big" one.  A couple of crashes. The first taking Kyle Busch out, he did get back out but just couldn't gain enough spots to push him through to the next round. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in involved in the last one that was to late in the race to get back up front. Brad Keslowski had also received some side damage in the first wreck, but it did not affect his returning to the head of the pack and winning the race. Being on of the three drivers that needed to win to advance. Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were all eliminated from the Chase
